Walk Around Adelaide Torrens Precinct and Botanic Gardens, 23rd August 2007
Soon after I got the Olympus FE-240, I went for a walk around Adelaide to put it through its paces. It takes such beautiful macro-closeups of flowers that I still use it for this now, 10 years on.
First Run with Olympus FE-240 at Felixstowe, South Australia, 19th August 2007
In August 2007, I bought my first decent digital camera, an Olympus FE-240. Prior to this I only had low-quality cameras - first an unbranded, 320 x 240 (0.08 megapixel) camera, then a HP-120 1152 x 864 (1 mexapixel) camera. Both suffered from noticeable noise and vignetting, and provided almost no control over the imaging process. Needless to say, I have no intention of putting those old photos on my site.
The FE-240 was a much better camera, with 3072 x 2304 (7 megapixel) imaging and a 5x optical zoom lens, and could take clear, sharp pictures even at close range. Here are the first photos I took with it, around Felixstow and the nearby Torrens Linear Park.
Walk around North Adelaide and North Terrace, Adelaide, 2014-08-24
A walk on a sunny afternoon through North Adelaide, down Jeffcott St, past Adelaide Oval, along North Terrace and back home through the Botanic Gardens and past the North Adelaide horse paddocks. These pictures were taken with my Samsung Galaxy 4 mobile phone camera, and some of them were post-processed in Photoshop and stitched with PTGui.
Around The Torrens Weir, 2016-12-07
Having gotten up half an hour earlier than usual I decided to forego my usual walk to the North Adelaide horse paddocks in favour of a slightly longer hike: my place to the Torrens Weir at the west end of the Torrens Lake in Adelaide.
Noarlunga and Southern Adelaide Beaches, 9th November 2014
The southern beaches of Adelaide feature spectacular views over colourful sandston cliffs and a wide variety of birdlife. The area is popular with surfers, windboarders and parasailers, while fishing enthusiasts come for the plentiful tommy ruffs, redfin and whiting found in these waters.
These are some of my panoramas, transformed via stereographic projection to look like "Tiny Planets."
Semaphore, South Australia, 23rd January 2016
Trip to Sempahore Beach, Adelaide, South Australia on 23rd January 2016. A long walk along the beach from Semaphore to Largs Bay and back, followed by a trip through the fairground at Semaphore and a go on the rides. The day concluded with an amazing South Aussie sunset.
